Marketing consultancy for lifesaving Charity
I was approached by The Air Ambulance Service who needed my marketing expertise for a few months while they were recruiting for a new Marketing Director. I worked for the air ambulance many years ago, so it was fantastic to be asked back to support them with their marketing.
Working across The Children’s Air Ambulance, Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance, I was covering a national brand and the regional brands – both with different audiences.
The main focus of the role was campaign management; planning, project management, concept construction, copywriting, delivery and results analysis. The campaigns included retention and acquisition with different fundraising propositions, stories and mechanisms. We wanted to ensure the donors were experiencing a valid and informative journey, with appropriate thank-you communications and personalisations. The acquisition campaigns grew significantly during my time which was a real achievement given the third sector acquisition climate.
Team leadership, strategic marketing and copywriting
My role also included leading a relatively new and fabulously talented team of marketing, brand and campaign managers, devising strategic marketing aims and implementation plans for the charity’s new strategy, and lots of copywriting for the Direct Mail fundraising campaigns, collateral and emails.
Initially asked to come on board for a couple of months, my stay amounted to a total of eight months! It was such a pleasure to work with a dedicated team, inspiring leadership and fantastic charity!
